Photo Gallery

Time for a few photos for you all.

Central Market - lots of interesting and colourful things to see here:

Tuk tuks. The safer option for travelling around Phnom Penh. The kids love going round in these ... all SIX of us. The traffic looks 'hair raising' but isn't that fast really:

FOOD!!

Food is very nice in Cambodia. We went to a restaurant on the river for lunch yesterday. We got three dishes, five fantas and some rice! The dishes we got were well cooked indeed. They were really tasty!

elephant ride

Well it is 5:45 here and it is cooling down nicely. It has been a very hot day and we are SO glad we opted for an air con room.

Today we went to Wat Phnom which is the most important Buddist Temple in Phnom Penh. We had to walk up lots of steps to the temple and it was beautifully decorated inside and out.
At the bottom of the hill there was an elephant which belongs to the temple and you can have a ride. It was very wobbly and jolted from side to side. It was very high up and no health and safety precautions!!

It was expensive to Khmers at $5 per person and it made me realise how poor some people are. We had spent in half an hour what some people make in a week.

we have some photos but are having trouble finding how to download them! It took me half an hour to down load photobox only to find it wont work! We will try again tomorrow.

We're here (there) now

Our flight was actually better than we thought it was going to be. Kids were very good on the planes ... taking it all in their stride.

In fact, the kids have already taken quite a few strange things in their stride. Our taxi drive from the airport to hotel was different (a squash, says Phoebe) ... all SIX of us and our many bags in one taxi ... just a normal car! And, we've already been out on a Tuk Tuk.

Will write more again soon ... hopefully with photoes.

Countdown...

Three days to go and we are madly trying to finish all the packing. This is not easy as the children are excited and are not going to bed on time.
